From higher-frequency, to short, medium and long-term time periods.

  1. On the top row within the Chart window, the second field from the left, next to the “instrument field”, the defaulted “time period” will be displayed – and can be selected to change the period.
  2. Upon selecting an available time frame from the “drop-down list”, the chart will update with data reflecting the newly selected data interval, and the chart will automatically be re-drawn.
  3. The available time frames include: 1,2,3,5,10, and 15 minute periods, 1-hour, 2-hour, 4-hour, and 8-hour periods, as well as daily, Weekly, and Monthly periods. Lastly, the “Tick” chart, which displays the number of ticks, has intervals which are not proportional to time but rather to the number of ticks within a given period (whereas, the other time periods available within other charts are fixed time frames regardless of the number of ticks or price updates).

For more information about changing time-frames and chart types, please refer to the AlphaTrader User Manual.
