Forex Trading Hours on JustForex
Forex trading is a decentralized market that operates through multiple financial centers around the world.
These financial centers are located in different time zones, so for all account types, the foreign exchange market is a five-day, 24 hourly period from Monday 00:00:30 (GMT+2) to Friday 23:57:59 (GMT+2).
The market will be closed from 23:59:00 (GMT+2) to 00:01:00 (GMT+2) every day.
Friday is the last day of operation of the money market because large market participants including major financial institutions, large funds, companies and banks will leave the market for the weekend break.

According to different trading hours, the foreign exchange market can be divided into different trading hours. Forex trading hours are not only different in names and special work schedules, but also in specific aspects of transactions. In each period, there is a “special” currency with high volatility, whose volatility is affected by basic economic factors.
- Pacific trading hours
- When the Pacific region entered local time on Monday, the foreign exchange market began to open. This period is characterized by relatively small fluctuations. In fact, this is the calmest period in the market.
- Trading hours in Asia
- Immediately after the Pacific time is the Asian time. During this period, currency pairs including the U.S. dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), Japanese yen (JPY) and Australian dollar (AUD) will be actively traded during this period. The trading activity of the Australian dollar (AUD) is caused by the overlap of the trading hours and working hours in the Pacific region.
- European trading hours
- The opening of European trading hours starts from the opening hours of financial centers such as Frankfurt, Zurich and Paris. However, trading really became active only after the London market opened. At lunchtime, there will usually be a trading low, and trading activities will become active again when night falls. During the European trading hours, there will be relatively strong volatility, because a large enough currency turnover will occur in the European region.
- U.S. trading hours
- The most active time in the foreign exchange market began at the beginning of the US trading session, because this time period coincided with the beginning of New York trading and the time when European trading continued to develop. Particularly important fundamental news will be announced at the beginning of the US trading session. It is characterized by extremely active trading, especially before the close of trading on Friday.

When is the best time to trade Forex?
To correctly evaluate the form according to the foreign exchange transaction time, please pay attention to the following points:
- Most of the activities of traders occur during European and American hours, so this is the best time to trade. During this period, most trades will be executed, and trading spreads will also be the lowest.
- You may also notice that there is overlap in certain trading hours, so volatility is usually the greatest during these times.
- During the Asian session, the largest number of transactions were driven by the yen.
- The trends in the European time period mainly appeared in two times: 10:00-14:00 and 15:00-19:00.
- Particular care should be taken during periods of “quiet” markets-this is a transitional time between trading sessions when liquidity is not enough to maintain a stable price chart, such as when there may be a strong impulse.
- During the New Year, major banks and exchanges are closed for holidays; the company will withdraw funds to promote results and statements.
- This is a long “quiet” market where you need to be extremely careful.
- After the market opens on weekends, there is usually a gap. We recommend that you use stop loss and take profit or even close all positions on Friday to protect orders.

Trading Schedule Adjustment by JustForex
The trading schedule will be adjusted in response to holidays such as Christmas, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
During these holidays, after-market trading will not be executed at all. In other cases, market time will shift.
If there is any adjustment in the market time, JustForex will always publish the latest trading schedule in JustForex’s news section.
Please stay tuned to JustForex’s news to keep abreast of the latest developments.
We recommend that you should take the adjustment of the trading schedule as a consideration when trading, because for example, if low liquidity is expected to appear in the market, you may need to modify your trading strategy.
